Maria obtained her undergraduate and law degrees from Northern Kentucky University. After law school, she worked as an associate in a large creditors’ rights firm in Cincinnati, Ohio where she handled contested foreclosure matters. Her job involved attending pre-trial conferences, negotiating settlements with opposing counsel, researching and drafting legal briefs, drafting and responding to discovery, and preparing for bench and jury trials. Maria helped develop a department within the firm dedicated to mediations in response to the nationwide housing crisis. Maria has handled thousands of mediated files during her career. She expanded her practice experience while managing a closing department at a local mortgage company, doing compliance work at a local hospital system and finally with doing domestic relations. In 2022 Maria returned to creditor’s rights work and in 2023 began handling more heavily contested matters in her prior firm’s litigation department. Licensed in Ohio since 2005, is has now adding Kentucky foreclosure work to her knowledge base. Maria is also licensed in the Southern District of the Federal Court of Ohio and the Supreme Court of the United States.
The child of a proud army soldier, Maria has lived all other this great nation. Her family settled in the Cincinnati area in 1999. Maria has been involved in local politics since 2019 and was honored to serve the City of Norwood as Clerk of Counsel from 2020 through 2022. She, along with her husband and children, are actively involved with a number of local charities and can be found volunteering many weekends.
