DARREN T. CASE joined Tiffany & Bosco, P.A. as an associate in June 2009. Darren is a tax attorney admitted to practice in the State of Arizona and the United States Tax Court. His tax law practice focuses mainly on the areas of estate planning, business planning and formation, and employee benefits.
In regard to Estate Planning, Darren is experienced in a broad range of planning techniques, including traditional wills and revocable trusts, along with more sophisticated planning strategies such as insurance trusts, residence trusts, "defective" grantor trusts, generation-skipping or dynasty trusts, split-interest trusts, family limited partnerships and intra-family sales and loans. Darren assists clients by providing planning services specifically tailored to each individual client, whether it is a client who has amassed substantial wealth or those who are in the process of accumulating such wealth. For business planning and formation, Darren provides legal guidance on a variety of issues throughout the course of business. In the initial planning stages, Darren assists new and aspiring business owners with entity selection, pre-formation agreements, and various corporate documents. During the life span of the business, Darren provides counsel on liability protection and tax issues to ensure specific goals are met.
Further, Darren clarifies the tax aspects of employee benefits, including the taxation of distributions from pension plans and the division of such assets upon divorce. He also assists clients in the preparation and filing of qualified domestic relations orders (QDRO) and domestic relations orders (DRO) in a tax efficient manner, along with reviewing orders prepared by other professionals.
Darren was born and raised in the Phoenix area and attended Arizona State University for his undergraduate studies, where he received his Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies in business and communication. He received his law degree from Chapman University, graduating with an emphasis in taxation, and was the Tax Law Emphasis Honors Graduate of the Class of 2008. Darren also received a Master of Laws in Taxation, with a Certificate in Estate Planning, from Georgetown University in May 2009.
